Picket at the 'Poet in The City' event held at the Imperial War Museum, 23 March 09

Poetry approved by the Ministry of Defence and introduced by war-correspondents from right-wing papers. We therefore protested and handed out yt communication pamphlets consisting of poet approved poetry. 'The Poetry is not in the Pity', put together by Harry Gilonis, Frances Kruk and Sean Bonney and introduced with 'The Shoes of Contempt' an essay written by Harry. 'The picture on the front is of some citizen with his/her face burned off by White Phosphorous, widely used in both Fallujah and Gaza. The title, of course, is an allusion to Wilfred Owen, erroneously used in our schoolrooms to promote imperialism and war.'
