The boys in luminous yellow and Peckham's cages

The setting: behind the Peckham Wetherspoons beside Will Alsop's lauded library,(ott alliteration seeming appropriate to the confused architecture). Alsop's design includes a mesh cage insurance encasing the building's glass. I am sat in the garden of the Wetherspoons where I am locked in. Since my last visit bars and a security gate have been added to the formerly pleasant smoking spot.The police are setting up a metal detector so to operate a stop and search for weapons. Once set-up the machine is carried out onto the high street in slapstick fashion by all 12 police persons.
